Seda Lio El Nido Review (Family Stay with Kids)

A beachfront resort in Palawan that made traveling with 3 kids feel easy

If you’re planning a trip to El Nido and searching for a family-friendly resort in Palawan, here’s our honest review of staying at Seda Lio El Nido with our three little ones.

We came to El Nido with a simple list of must-haves:
✔ Beachfront access
✔ A pool
✔ Breakfast included

Seda Lio checked all of those boxes — and then surprised us with so much more.

First Impressions: Easy Arrival from El Nido Airport

One of the biggest perks right away?

Complimentary transportation from El Nido airport to the hotel.

After traveling with three kids, not having to coordinate another ride made a huge difference. From airport to resort, everything felt smooth and stress-free — which set the tone for the entire stay.

We checked in during the evening, and even in the dark, the resort felt peaceful, clean, and beautifully designed.

By morning, we saw it in full — and it was even better.

Our Pool + Beachfront Suite

Our suite opened directly onto a private patio with views of both the pool area and the beach — and this was one of our favorite parts of the stay.

Being able to step outside and go straight to the sand with kids?
No elevators, no long walks — just instant access.

When we visited, the main pool was still under renovation (it has since reopened and looks beautiful), but the beachfront setup more than made up for it.

Beachfront Living (and Why We Didn’t Miss the Pool)

The beach quickly became our kids’ favorite place to be.

  • Calm, swimmable water

  • Soft sand perfect for little feet

  • Complimentary beach activities and sand toys

  • Lifeguards on duty

We didn’t bring a single sand toy — and didn’t need to.

For a family traveling with limited luggage space, this was such a thoughtful detail.

What Makes Seda Lio Family-Friendly

Traveling with young kids can be overwhelming — but Seda Lio made it feel manageable.

Here’s what stood out:

  • Indoor play space (great for cooling down)

  • Outdoor playground

  • Spacious, comfortable rooms

  • Direct beach access

  • Complimentary beach toys and activities

  • Lifeguards on duty

There was always something for the kids to do — which made everything feel easier for us as parents.

A Meaningful Touch: Sea Turtle Conservation

One of the most special parts of our stay was learning that Seda Lio sits on a sea turtle conservation site.

The resort helps protect nesting areas and hatchlings — giving our kids a real-life connection to marine life and conservation.

Homeschool connection:

  • Marine life + ecosystems

  • Environmental responsibility

  • Reflection + journaling

It turned this trip into more than just a vacation.

Buffet Breakfast = Stress-Free Mornings

Our stay included a daily buffet breakfast, and it made mornings so much easier.

No planning, no searching for food — just show up and eat.

With kids, that kind of convenience is everything.

The Spa (Real Talk for Parents)

The spa was one of our favorite parts of the trip — but here’s the honest version:

There’s no childcare provided, so my husband and I took turns going while the other stayed with the kids.

And honestly? It still worked.

Because there were plenty of play spaces, the parent “on duty” could still relax a bit while the kids played — and the one at the spa got a true moment to reset.

Quiet. Peaceful. Worth it.

Island Hopping Made Easy

El Nido is known for island hopping — and Seda Lio made it incredibly convenient.

👉 Our boat picked us up right on the beach at the hotel.

No extra transportation, no rushing — just walk out and go.

With kids, that level of ease makes a huge difference.

Our Honest Verdict

Even with the pool under renovation during our stay, Seda Lio delivered exactly what we needed — and more.

✔ Easy with kids
✔ Relaxing for parents
✔ Thoughtful, family-centered details
✔ Beautiful beachfront location

Would we stay again? 100% — especially now that the pool is open.

Tips for Families Staying at Seda Lio

  • Pack light — beach toys are already provided

  • Take advantage of airport transfer (huge help with kids)

  • Plan spa time in shifts if traveling without childcare

  • Book at least one island hopping tour

  • Bring a journal for kids — great learning moments

Final Thoughts

Traveling with kids isn’t always easy.
But places like Seda Lio make it feel… lighter.

Slower mornings. Sandy feet. Full hearts.

And those are the memories that last.
